Yeah fuck this game. Not doing ALL OF THIS just to complete stupid redundant challenges.

One thing i wished this game did like GOW is that they had end game content. Whereas in this after beating the game theres nothing else to do. I really hope for ghost 2 they will add end game acitivities for us to do. Endless mongol waves, kill a certain in an amount of time, stealth kills, uber boss fights. My only wish!

I can't do the destroyer chain for the life of me T_T I get the pause right (I think) - the sound-visual cue is pretty obvious - but then something goes sideways with the following strikes (I think) because the game tells me "Wrong input" every damn time. I tried waiting longer, tried waiting less, tried tapping quicker, adjust to Aloy's animations, not, but uuuuugh. Is there something about it I don't get?

I'd argue that Overdraw Coils are by FAR the best choice if focusing on just Drill Spikes, since they increase both the Damage, DOT, Tear, AND Knockdown Power of the shot! I'd say this makes them far better to use than Knockdown Power coils, since you get all of the other increases too.

Worth noting that to actually take advantage of Knockdowns, you'll want to have the Grapple Strike ability, along with an armor that has a +2 Buff for both Critical Strike & Resonator Blast! This will allow you to do MASSIVE damage to a Knocked Down machine by Grapple Striking it & then following up with an arrow to the Resonator point you just created with the Grapple Strike. This alone should deal around 1,000 damage by itself! This is an amazing way to take out small & even mid sized machines with ease, specially early on when your weapons are still weak! It's even more helpful on higher difficulties when taking out machines quickly becomes paramount.

I'd argue that the Spinthorn Spike Thrower's Drill Spikes are so good that they can easily last you even thru the End Game! & with it's 40% Damage Over Time perk, they are actually right around the same strength as the Vindicator Spke Thrower's Drill Spikes! Just saying that if you don't feel like upgrading the Vindicator, you can easily get away with just using the Spinthorn thru the entire game! The Knockdown Power perk is also pretty great & I really wish the Vindicator had it as well. In fact, I'd argue that it may be a better strategy to just focus on upping the Advanced Explosive Spike damage on the Vindicator while saving the Spinthorn for just your Drill Spike usage.... Man how I wish this game had a quick swap option for Weapons....

LOL infinite arrows is a long winded way to get infinite supplies by selling the free arrows you get, As long as you have enough to shoot the 3 arrows you can just infinitely make more to sell. Maxed carry, you can get about 30+ at a time for like 5 sec worth of shooting the ground. Boom 30 supplies, or 1 linen without having the do last checkpoint. Not bad if youre in a pinch and need an item you can buy and dont feel like looking for it.

I wanted to play recklessly so I started using a mix of the tank build and the ghost build making an undead samurai build. Basically just switched Rejuvenation for Deadly Return. Forgoing stealth, I just end up rushing in for a smoke assassination then holding my ground until I’m dead, revive and repeat.

Thanks for this guide as well! Not an easy challenge, but absolutely no comparison to "Apex Predators", imho. At least now that I know how to get the traps working on the PC version by lowering the framerate to 30. I don't know what's going wrong internally in the game engine, but it really seems to work. In "Wildfire" I did most of the damage with traps. Shock for the Clumberjaws, and Purgewater for the Scorchers (and a few Precision Arrows), even without using Valor Surge.

I'm on my fifth playthrough and did not know about the overheating mechanic.

I never realized the value of freezing enemies and the extra damage. This was pretty much my strategy for Stormbirds anyway, but without freezing. I tended to hammer them with a blast sling when they were downed and they ended up as these skeletal, screaming, fire demon looking things when they finally went down. Looked awesome and was terrifying as well as satisfying, but used so many resources I tended to avoid them. Will definitely use this strategy on my next playthrough.

The poison archer build I use is with the deer charm , 2 yurikos poison, and 2 fortune charms along with the charm of concentration or the one that doubles ammo drops Had so much fun just poisoning enemies. 60% poison chance go brrr

I just started the game for the 1st time 2 days ago, and OMG the combat system is horrible ON MEDIUM not HARD ... the dodge method looks like an clumsy old man ... i don´t know man, maybe i´m getting open open world fatigue or something but i don´t think i´m gonna finish this

I’d already been farming animal parts, but the Whisper Bow was quite the reveal as far as being a large payoff, thanks! Still exists today on PC version, so I guess it’s here to stay.

Thank you for the Guide (and all the others), it helped a lot, along with MrFancyPants guides.. For Apex Predators I used the version where you kill the Scorcher with 4 Elite Purgewater traps without roping the Thunderjaw first. It seems to me that setting VSync to "half refresh rate" (=30Hz) actually works on PC. At least the Scorcher died pretty fast for once 😂 - and after that I had enough bombs to trigger 2 Knockdowns on the thunderjaw. That one was definitely a tough challenge, but at least it felt (for the most part) fair - even on ultra-hard.
